Principals
Tom Ashworth and Martin Tacon are the founding partners of Sniper Capital which they established in 2004 to focus on property fund management, investment and development opportunities. The duo bring with them over 40 years of combined experience and a wide range of complimentary skill sets.
Tom Ashworth
Tom Ashworth co-founded Sniper Capital in 2004 after identifying the significant investment potential for Macau. Prior to this, he pursued a 20 year career in finance which included working in a number of positions at HSBC and Morgan Stanley in London and Hong Kong. Over the past decade, he has successfully established a number of entrepreneurial financial and asset management ventures. He is a Non-Executive Director of London-listed Macau Property Opportunities Fund, which is managed by Sniper Capital.
Martin Tacon
Martin Tacon has over 20 years experience in real estate investment and finance, and a well-established track record of identifying and developing real estate opportunities in Asia. Prior to co-founding Sniper Capital, he worked in the real estate investment banking divisions of HSBC, Credit Suisse First Boston and, more recently, Zurich Re, where he successfully built a US$1 billion pipeline of structured finance transactions. He is a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Joe Shum
Chief Financial Officer
Joe Shum's experience in finance stretches over ten years. He was an audit manager at Ernst & Young before joining AIG Global Real Estate as the finance manager for the Asia region. He then joined HSBC Alternative Fund Services as Vice President where he specialised in private equity/hedge funds administration services. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified
Public Accountants.
Joao Afonso
Director - Macau Operations
Joao Afonso began his career with the Macau government, where he held a wide variety of positions over a period of eight years. He has developed an extensive network of government and industry relationships, which he capitalised on by establishing the MIRR Real Estate Company in 1994. Here he became actively involved in a broad range of local residential and commercial property development projects before joining Sniper Capital in 2004.
Victor Lee
Associate Director - Acquisitions & Research
Victor Lee has over 13 years of consulting, marketing and investment experience in both the United States and greater China. Before joining Sniper Capital, he was actively involved in private equity investment which included securing over US$100 million of investments into Macau. He serves on the board of Associate Hotel International, currently developing over US$1 billion retail projects in Hong Kong.
Cello Chan
Associate Director - Asset Management
Cello Chan has almost a decade of asset management experience gained from her involvement in a number of key residential, retail and mixed-use development projects. Her diverse experience spans estate enhancement & management, property sales & marketing and tenant recruitment & relationships. Prior to joining Sniper Capital, she worked at various leading property developers, including Henderson Land Development and, more recently, Grosvenor.
Jay Wee
Associate Director - Leasing & Marketing
Jay Wee was most recently the Leasing Manager for CapitaLand where he was involved in its two prime projects - Clarke Quay and Funan Digitalife Mall. Jay played an instrumental role in transforming Clarke Quay into one of Singapore's premier entertainment and food & beverage destinations as well as helping Funan increase its net lettable area and improve its tenant mix. Prior to CapitaLand, Jay spent seven years with City Developments handling marketing and leasing for their mixed asset properties.
Daisy Tang
Associate Director - Corporate & Investor Communications
Daisy Tang has ten years experience in corporate communications, marketing and sales, media relations, branding and event management with a career that spans the exhibition and convention, automotive, property, consumer products and food and beverage industries. Prior to joining Sniper Capital, she was one of the core pre-opening team members of AsiaWorld-Expo, where she helped launch Asia’s leading exhibition and events centre in 2005.
